The Trinity Catholic High School Band provides a comprehensive musical experience for our students, with an emphasis on growing each student to his or her potential, teaching performers to give their all and be the best they can be, and developing student leaders. Many of our members go on to perform in college or community ensembles, making a difference in the world around them well beyond high school.
The Trinity Catholic High School Band consistently earns Superior and Excellent ratings at district and state level events. They are recipients of the FBA's highest honor, the Otto. J. Kraushaar Award, for straight superior ratings at all Florida marching and concert assessments in the 2008-2009 school year. Students are regularly selected to the Florida High School Honors Band, All-District Band, All-County Band, Festival of Winds, and Tri-State Band Festival. The band has performed in Washington DC, New York City, Atlanta, Savannah's St. Patrick's Day Parade, and Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. This year, in the 2014-15 school year, the band traveled to Ireland and performed in a parade!
Any student is welcome to perform in the Trinity Catholic High School Band, including those without prior musical experience. An average of 30% of our band members start playing their instrument at TCHS, and we welcome the challenge of new students because we see the value and in learning to play music with a group.
The band is under the direction of Cassidy Gleaton, a finalist for the Diocese of Orlando's High School Teacher of the Year in 2012. Performing groups include the Celtic Pride Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Emerald Guard.
